It’s been one of those weeks. I feel like I haven’t been able to sit and relax at all. It’s a slow weekend, with no concerts or shows to attend (boo!), so I’m trying to take advantage of this temporary lull.
I took Miss O to her Irish dance class today. Her jig is improving and adorable. Fall is in the air, and the Big E started this weekend. If you live in New England, I’m sure you’ve at least heard of it. It’s a huge agricultural state fair, with buildings for each of the New England states, rides, shows, TONS of shopping and lots of really delicious, terrible for you food. Things like chocolate covered bacon, fried Oreos, tempura veggies…typical fair food. Because I’ve lived here my whole life, I feel like this huge fair is NBD, but really….it is. It’s 18 days long and attendance is always over 1 million.
Then of course, there are the concerts. Over the years, I’ve seen some cool shows at the Big E. Destiny’s Child was there one year, Weird Al Yankovic (amazingly funny!), Carrie Underwood and countless others. Last year they had Owl City. There are always country acts dominating their lineup, which I’ll admit, I’m not terribly interested in. This year’s schedule looks like this:

A lot of their shows are free with fair admission, this year Hot Chelle Rae is a freebie! I’ll be at that show, making up for the missing half from Six Flags. This time I’ll see a full set, with a full band and all members, so I’m excited to bring you guys that review.
Beyond that, I’ll be seeing Gotye at Mohegan Sun with Missy Higgins and Jonti on 9/26. I may hit up Boston locals Gentlemen Hall at the Iron Horse in Northampton on 9/22, so lots to come.
